KUKA

Kuka, based in Augsburg, Germany, is one of the largest manufacturers of industrial robotics worldwide. Many different industries use Kuka robots for welding, palletizing, assembly, or a variety of other manufacturing operations. A well-known example is the automotive industry, where they use Kuka robots for spot welding and assembly. The robots feature up to six electromagnetically powered axes. Kuka robots can often be recognized by their “Kuka orange” colour.

In addition to the robots, Kuka also supplies the corresponding software and controllers.

The history of Kuka

Kuka was founded in 1898 in Augsburg. The company’s main focus was on manufacturing lighting and welding machinery. It was not until 1973 that Kuka developed the first industrial robot (the FAMULUS). The first robots were mainly used for welding, but nowadays Kuka has countless products for a range of industries and applications.
